Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 26, 2026 | Last Updated: August 26, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms govern use of Ra3y (راعي), a parish-management service for Coptic Orthodox churches, across its mobile applications and web portal. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a church, diocese, or institution, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization.
These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we handle and why.
2. Who Owns the Data
The church owns its records. Family records, visits, pastoral notes, confession records, Sunday-school rosters, and every other record entered by a church or its members remain the property of that church. Ra3y stores and processes them on the church's behalf; it does not acquire ownership of them.
Concretely, and for as long as an account exists, this means:
- Export on demand. A church administrator may export the church's family and member records to a standard spreadsheet format at any time, without asking us and without an additional fee.
- No secondary use. We do not sell, rent, license, or trade church data. We do not use pastoral records to train machine-learning models, and we do not mine them for advertising or resale.
- No hostage clause. Ending a subscription does not delete the church's data, and does not remove the ability to export it. See Section 6.
- Access is limited to operating the service. Our staff access production records only where necessary to provide support, resolve a fault, or comply with law.
3. Accounts and Responsible Use
Accounts are approved by a church administrator. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your login and for activity carried out under your account.
You agree not to:
- Access family, pastoral, health, or financial records outside the scope of your ministry or role
- Share, publish, or export records to anyone not authorized by the church
- Attempt to bypass permissions, rate limits, or authentication controls
- Upload unlawful content, malware, or content you have no right to share
- Use the service to harass any individual, or to build a profile of a person for a purpose the church has not sanctioned
Pastoral confidentiality. Confession records, health conditions, family needs, and financial circumstances are held in confidence. Handling them outside the church's own pastoral discipline is a breach of these Terms as well as of that discipline.
4. Subscriptions and Payment
- Subscriptions are per church, priced by the number of active family records, or per institution under a negotiated contract.
- Prices are shown in Egyptian pounds (EGP) on the pricing page. Payment is made by bank transfer, InstaPay, or wallet transfer, and is activated after the transfer is verified.
- A free tier is available for churches up to the family limit stated on the pricing page.
- A trial period, where offered, is once per church.
- Subscriptions do not auto-renew. Renewal reminders are sent before the term ends, and a grace period follows expiry.
- After the grace period the account becomes read-only: existing records stay readable and exportable, but new records cannot be added until the subscription is renewed.
- Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. A change never applies to a term already paid for.
5. Availability and Offline Use
Ra3y is offline-first on mobile: records are stored encrypted on the device and synchronized when connectivity returns. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may take the service down for maintenance.
Because a device may hold unsynchronized changes, you should allow the app to complete synchronization before uninstalling it, resetting the device, or transferring it to another person.
6. Termination and What Happens to the Data
- A church may stop using the service at any time.
- We may suspend an account for non-payment after the grace period, or for a breach of Section 3.
- On termination the church may export its records. We retain them for 90 days so the church can retrieve them, then delete them from active systems.
- An individual may delete their own login identity through the in-app flow or at the account deletion page. This removes the login identity; pastoral records belonging to the church are handled under the church's own process, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Backups are removed on their normal rotation schedule after deletion.
7. Intellectual Property
The Ra3y application, its source code, design, and brand remain ours. These Terms grant a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for the church's ministry for the duration of the subscription. Nothing here transfers ownership of the software, and nothing here claims ownership of the church's records.
8. Disclaimers and Liability
The service is provided "as is". While we take substantial care with pastoral data — encryption at rest on device, server-side authorization, audit logging, and regular backups — no system is free of fault.
Keep your own records. Ra3y is a working system of record, not a substitute for the church's own archival practice. Export regularly.
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees paid by the church for the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If a church does not accept a material change, it may terminate under Section 6 and export its data.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Cairo, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available where you live.
